Christmas Greetings!!! -
December 2007
Friends and extended family:
First of all we want to thank each and everyone of you who are faithful prayers and supporters of mission ministries. We are very grateful for all of your support and we would not be able to do our jobs without your support. We are especially thankful for those who give to support the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This offering helps to provide our support while we are on the field.
Christmas comes every year with a flurry. It seems that we just get through with the Fall Festivals and then there are plays and pageants or cantatas to get prepared for. Banquets and other things to keep us running from place to place and keeping our hearts in such a tizzy that when we start looking at Christmas we look at it with a weary eye. There are many things that vie for our time and attention but, how many of us are really ready for Christmas?
Imagine, if Jesus were to come to your house to celebrate Christmas what would He find? Would He find that in our busyness that we have forgotten the real reason for the Christmas holiday? Would He find us so immersed in ourselves and trying to give that perfect gift to everyone in your family and circle of friends? Would He be able to see past the gifts and toys to see hearts prepared to celebrate His coming? Would Jesus find us being so busy that there was no time for Him? Would He find us like those whom He came to in the same sense with no room in the inn for Him? Would He find us eating drinking and being merry, without making time to prepare our hearts for the true meaning of Christmas? Would He find us so worn out and totally spent that we have no time nor room in our hearts for Him? Would Jesus find that under the facade of happiness there is emptiness and sorrow? Would Jesus find our love has grown cold towards others during this time of celebration? What would Jesus see when He comes into your house?
God gave us the most wonderful gift at Christmas because the gift of Christmas lasts a lifetime and beyond. Jesus came, that you might have life and have it abundantly or to overflowing. Jesus came as the ultimate gift of love for everyone. It would be a shame to miss out on the free gift that God has given to us. Jesus has said " Come to Me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28(NASB) Are you worn out weary and without hope then turn to Jesus during this time of celebration and make the celebration into what it is meant to be. Celebrate coming to know Jesus during this time when the world pauses to think about peace on earth and good will to all men. Let the true joy of Christmas fill your heart this year and know that there is nothing that Jesus cannot forgive if you turn to The Real Reason for the Season.
We love because He first Loved us,
